Careerbuilder conducted a national survey of 3,056 workers in different industries and found that…

*30% of workers reported that they regularly search for jobs even though they are currently employed and 16% are determined to get a new position in the New Year. Of the workers ranging in age from 18-34, 23% are planning on getting a new job by the end of the year.

Now, the majority of workers say that they are satisfied with their current positions but an expanding economy and widespread employment gains are tempting them to consider, bigger and better opportunities.

*Who is most likely to change jobs in 2015?

  • Workers that feel like they only have a job not a career. (24%)
  • Underemployed workers that have part time positions but want full time or are not given duties they are qualified to complete. (31%)
  • Employees that are undertrained or dissatisfied with learning opportunities at their company. (35%)
  • 23% of all the employees surveyed feel overlooked for promotions and/or raises. Out of the overall percentage, (31%) of the staff members that feel overlooked plan on changing jobs in 2015.
  • Employees that feel that there is no room to grow and feel immobile. (37%)
  • Underpaid workers. (22%) of employees that did not receive a raise in 2014 plan to change jobs.
  • Employees that rate their boss’ performance as poor or fair, feel they are mismanaged and likely to change jobs in 2015. (27%)
  • (33%) of workers feel their work/life balance is not even and are dissatisfied and ready to make a change.

  • 26% – Get a promotion/raise
  • 25% – Eat healthier

  • 55% – Affordable benefits
  • 46% – Good work culture
  • 40% Flexible schedules
  • 39% – Career advancement

And lastly, in the survey employees were asked if there were any perks their employers could add to make their jobs more enjoyable…they said…

  • Half-day on Friday – 40%
  • On-site fitness center – 22%
  • Daily catered lunches – 21%
  • Massages – 16%
  • Being able to wear jeans/casual business attire – 15%
