Hopefully you haven’t stopped your job search for the holidays. MANY companies hire during the 4th quarter, meaning you need to put extra effort and energy behind your strategies!
Reason 1: Hiring managers want to spend their hiring budgets during the last quarter of the year….if they don’t, their budgets may actually get reduced for the next year.
Reason 2: Corporations that were surveyed intend to hire because of high profits at the corporate level.
Reason 3: Many companies terminate “average performers” during the 4th Quarter to eliminate having to pay for year-end/Christmas bonuses. Opening up more opportunities for you!
Reason 4: The election is finally OVER! So the problem of “waiting until after the election to hire” no longer exists.
Reason 5: Employees are not satisfied with their current positions and are accepting new opportunities, creating even more openings for new hires.
If you’re thinking “No companies are hiring right now, I’ll just wait till the New Year to start sending out resumes” THINK AGAIN – that is the absolute worst thing you can do to your search efforts. Studies have found that a high percentage of the unemployed think this way, so now that you know the truth – Get out there and kick it in high gear while other job seekers slow down giving you the perfect advantage to landing a job!
